Seagulls are dedicated city dwellers. They wake the city up in the morning and they know what its rooftops and backyards look like. In the city they find hide-outs where their human neighbour never set foot. They find viewpoints from which to spot danger, shelter for their young ones and garbage bins with leftovers to eat. Seagull City sees the city through the eyes of the seagulls and investigates the co-existance between humans and birds in an environment that we usually consider as ”ours”.
”Seagull City” is the title of a short documentary which portrays the city of Malmö from the perspective of seagulls. The film was shot during summer 2013, completed in 2014 and will be distributed in 2015.
